Is there a minimum age requirement?

Yes. First lobe piercings are restricted to ages 6 and above. Those aged 16 or under require a signed consent form from a parent or legal guardian who must also be present at the appointment. Question 3

What should I do to prepare for my appointment?

Eat a good meal beforehand to keep your blood sugar stable, stay hydrated, and wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being pierced. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment as it thins the blood.

What is included in the piercing price?

All prices include the piercing procedure, implant-grade titanium jewellery and a full aftercare walkthrough. The aftercare instructions will then be sent to your phone for use at your convenience. Jewellery upgrades and aftercare products are available in the studio at additional costs.

Do you offer student or group discounts?

I do not currently offer discounts. Every piercing receives the same level of care and attention regardless of quantity, and pricing reflects the quality of the service and jewellery provided.

Do you take cash or card payments?

We happily accept cash or card, with cash being our preferred method of payment. Please note a £1 processing fee applies to all card or contactless transactions.

What type of jewellery do you use?

I use only internally threaded, implant-grade titanium (ASTM F136) and implant-grade solid gold (to be ordered in advance). These materials are hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and widely considered the gold standard for new piercings. I do not use surgical steel, acrylic, or mystery metals.

Why do you use internally threaded instead of externally threaded jewellery?

Internally threaded jewellery features a smooth post with the threading housed inside, allowing the decorative end to screw in securely. This design protects the piercing channel from irritation or micro-trauma during insertion, making it the safest, most comfortable, and professional standard for high-quality piercings.

Can I bring my own jewellery to be pierced with?

No. I cannot guarantee the quality or safety of externally sourced jewellery, so I will only pierce with jewellery that has been sourced from a quality approved, reputable supplier. This jewellery is then fully sterilised within the studio using an on-site autoclave. This protects your healing and my work.

Question 10

When can I change my jewellery?

Accepted Answer

You should wait until the piercing is healed before changing jewellery. This varies by placement - earlobes typically heal in 6–8 weeks, while cartilage and other piercings can take 6–12 months. It is safe to change your own jewellery at home or you can book an appointment to come back to the studio for your first change.

How do I know if my piercing is healing well?

Some redness, swelling, and clear or whitish discharge is to be expected and completely normal in the first few weeks. You know your piercing is healing well when the redness, swelling, and tenderness gradually decrease, and the area feels comfortable. Signs of a possible infection include increasing pain, yellow or green discharge, spreading redness, or fever. If you're concerned, contact us and seek medical advice — do not remove the jewellery.

Can I swim with a new piercing?

You should avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, open water, and the sea for the first two weeks after having your piercing as a minimum - the longer you can wait, the better. These environments introduce bacteria and chemicals that can disrupt healing and cause irritation or infection.

What is a piercing bump and how do I treat it?

Accepted Answer

A piercing bump is a small lump of irritated tissue that can form next to the piercing. It is usually caused by pressure, snagging, or poor aftercare — not infection. The best treatment is to identify and remove the cause, maintain a consistent saline cleaning routine, and avoid touching or picking at it. Contact us if you're unsure.

How is the studio kept clean and sterile?

Hygiene is paramount. All equipment is single-use or fully sterilised in an autoclave before each piercing. Surfaces are disinfected between appointments, and I work to the highest professional standards. Your safety is never compromised.
